The Ontario Securities Commission (OSC) has published OSC Rule 91-506 Derivatives: Product Determination and OSC Rule 91-507 Trade Repositories (TR) and Derivatives Data Reporting (DR), the first set of harmonized derivatives rules which intend to bring greater transparency to the OTC derivatives market and pave the way for future rules.

Members of the Canadian Securities Administrators (CSA) today published for comment proposed provincial rules and updated model rules relating to the reporting of derivatives transactions to trade repositories. Together, the publications aim to achieve a harmonized derivatives trade reporting regime across Canada.
