As private market investments continue to gain traction, the CFA Institute is introducing an advanced certificate program for industry professionals who want to deepen their private equity investment knowledge.

The new Advanced Private Equity Certificate is now open for registration to investors around the world. It’s available to individuals who have completed the CFA Institute’s Private Equity Certificate program.

Building on that initial program, the new certificate program introduces more complex topics including due diligence, advanced financial modelling, private debt valuation, integrating sustainability factors and strategic communication through practical assessments and activities, the CFA Institute said in a release.

Richard Fernand, senior head, learning content and innovation with the CFA Institute, said the program is tailored for investment professionals who want to specialize in advanced private equity practices.

“This certificate provides actionable learning into the intricate dynamics of private equity, ensuring that participants can directly apply what they learn to their professional roles,” Fernand said in the release.

The program features four courses, which take roughly 100 hours to complete. It was developed in partnership with industry experts and features practical financial modelling exercises from training provider Financial Edge, the release noted.

The certificate program has a price tag of US$712 for CFA Institute members and US$890 for non-members. Learners will receive a certificate badge upon completion.

Individuals who sign up for the certificate will be able to access program content as of Aug. 19.
